Podcast on a Boat?! and Nicole Hates Nature
This week, we take The Road Hunter Podcast out on the water: literally! 🎙️🚤 We’re fishing while recording, and joining us is a very special guest: my daughter Nicole. She’s not exactly what you’d call an “outdoorsy” person… In fact, she might be the first guest we’ve had who actively dislikes nature. From bugs to heat to anything that touches her unexpectedly, Nicole shares her hilarious take on why the great outdoors just isn’t for her. We talk fishing, family, and why not everyone’s cut out for the wild life. You don’t want to miss this one!

Related: hunting widow life.
Not every family member needs to love hunting and fishing to be part of the brand. Nicole is upfront: bugs, heat, and four-wheeling are all hard no’s, but she’ll hike a scenic trail and enjoys being around nature without being in the thick of it. That’s a completely valid way to participate: she still comes along, still adds to the story, still occasionally ruins someone else’s hunting spot by accident on opening day.
Two unopened mystery tackle boxes turned into an impromptu Devil’s Lake bass tournament: Brad and Nicole versus Eli and Wyatt, using whatever swimbaits, jigs, and topwater lures came out of the box. It’s a fun, zero-prep way to force yourself to fish something other than your usual go-tos.
Find their version of participation, that might be a scenic hike, hanging out on the boat without fishing, or simply being present without expecting full engagement in hunting or fishing itself.
Thanks for watching us record a podcast on a moving boat: audio quality not guaranteed, laughs guaranteed. We’ll catch you next time.
