Truck Stuck on a Logging Road: How It Happened

The mistakes stacked up fast: no recovery gear, no winch mounted, and driving a freshly rained-on clay road in a two-wheel-drive truck. The first turnout was fine. The second one, the road pitched steep and the all-terrain tires gummed up with wet clay until they just spun.

The Recovery: Finding Where the Dozer Packed the Corner

The fix came from noticing where a dozer had repeatedly packed down one corner of the road, giving the tires something firmer to grip. Backing sideways onto that packed section and committing to steady throttle, not flooring it, not letting off, got the truck moving enough to crest a drainage cut and straighten out at the top.
